Safety is Power, The Worlds Strongest Self-locking Nut!
For Shinkansen (Japanese Bullet Train) models prior to the 300 Series released in 1992, underfloor equipment was welded. However, after approximately 1,2 million km of travel (roughly 1,5–2 years later), the maintenance process of removing underfloor equipment became a significant challenge due to time constraints.
Since the introduction of the 300 Series in 1992, HARDLOCK® nuts have replaced welding for securing underfloor equipment across all domestic Shinkansen models. Given the industry’s emphasis on safety and punctuality, the HARDLOCK® nut was selected as the optimal solution due to its resistance to loosening and ease of removal.
On average, each Shinkansen, typically consisting of 16 cars, utilizes around 20,000 sets of HARDLOCK® nuts. Since adopting HARDLOCK® nuts in 1992, there have been zero reported failures, reinforcing our core values of safety and reliability.
