Within tightening a bolted flange joint assembly (BFJA) using the Durasquirt DTI assembly method each stud (or bolt in this case) is loaded to a specifically calibrated tension which compensates for the dynamic interaction of the remaining studs. The result is a uniformly loaded flange when complete, in the most optimal assembly time. Each stud is only touched once by tightening until the Durasquirt DTI squirts; in a simple circular pattern. No more torque charts, legacy passes or cross pattern tightening. No other method of flange assembly can provide the benefits of tool indifference, tension accuracy, assembly speed, simplicity and the visual assurance that the DuraSquirt DTI can while adhering to ASME PCC-1.
